Guest host, you guys! Claire Campbell joins the podcast to tackle our first theme episode: love/hate. We each pick songs we love that we presume the other will hate. Will our picks get under each other’s skin? Is our new favorite song waiting just around the corner? Will our marriage survive? ANSWERS ABOUND! (Arguments are minimal.)

Based on recent mucus production alone, I appear to be allergic to life. Good one, Darwin. Whoops! You got me! I surrender. Now can you call it off with all of the mold and pollen pranks and let me breathe easy again? Nope? OK. Cool. You can’t blame a guy for trying. When you can’t breathe, just listen to music. After awhile, you barely notice the itchy eyes and endless stream of tears.

The BBQ season draws to a close and this episode should be played whilst dancing on the graves of sweltering temperatures, record droughts and sub par window A/C units. Be gone hurricanes! We banish you back to the tropics from which you originated and gladly welcome the long sleeves and slimming blacks of our Fall wardrobes!

Posting in a coffee shop, trying desperately to drown out the limpid musical taste of the baristas with the sultry jams provided below. Will this music prevail? Will we all go deaf in the process? Can disability (deafness) be a natural result of nobility (music)? MUSIC!

What better time than now, six months into 2011, to unveil the Best of 2010 episode! I don’t think we need to discuss why this is happening now, right? I’ve atoned for my absence. And besides, all of these songs are good. Impossibly good. It isn’t possible for songs to be these good.

And yet here they are. Try to avoid getting sucked into the hell dimension opened up by the paradox I created in the last sentence and listen to this episode. I should say that most of the albums these tracks appear on are also worth your time. Buy them, break ties with all your friends and spend the remaining weekends of 2011 listening to records in a dark room, alone.
